Rezin participates in tourism roundtable, stresses its importance
State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) participated in a tourism roundtable last week with U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-Manteno). They both spoke to area leaders about the importance of keeping funding for recreation areas in order to generate tourism for the communities.
Sen. Rezin spoke of how last year, the state had 82 million visitors who spent $27 billion.
The roundtable was meant to serve as a discussion to preserve and promote tourism throughout the district. Sen. Rezin said she was very pleased with the participation and thought the topics that were discussed showed how vital tourism is for business.
“We talked to many people about what tourism means for their livelihood,” Sen. Rezin said. “We need to make sure that we are putting policies into place that attract people to our communities and properly fund tourism.”
